The standard is intentionally deployer-heavy, so developer-side guidance remains thinner than what high-assurance teams will want—especially for model development controls (secure training pipelines, evaluation design, data curation protocols, reproducibility, and post-training safety techniques). While it references adversarial testing/red teaming, it does not deeply specify methods, coverage, or minimum testing depth for different risk tiers. It also stops short of providing ready-to-use templates (e.g., an AI inventory schema, acceptance criteria registry template, model/system cards, incident taxonomies, or sample contract clauses), which would accelerate adoption for smaller organisations. Finally, “risk-based” is well motivated, but a clearer tiering system (e.g., low/medium/high with corresponding minimum control sets) would make it easier to operationalise consistently across portfolios.
